Four South Walians had attended a good event including a long run out to the Diddly Squat Farm, although Farm had been extremely popular. Sixty-two inscriptions had been recorded and the weather had been kind.

Four vehicles had attended from South Wales where forty-five inscriptions had taken place with seventeen GWOCGB regions represented. South Wales had won the largest region award by being supported by our friends in West Wales. Weather was good apart from the Saturday which had been wet.

22   AOB:

a.     Malcolm reported to the meeting that numbers of Wingers attending GWOCGB events had been noticeably lower this year. With that in mind we might not get as many visitors to our Wing Ding this year so much so that we could make a loss on the event meaning that we will have to dip into our reserves which will not last for ever. Therefore, he suggested that we may need to hold back some of the funds we raise for BBW to give us some financial stability for future Wing Dings. The meeting agreed to consider this thought further when the financial results are available for this year’s Wing Ding.

b.     It was agreed to have both a Quiz and Bingo at this year’s Wing Ding.

c.     After the meeting Barry was talking to Lauren Griffiths the Taffs Well RFC Club Manager and she was very keen for us to return to the Club for our future Wing Dings. The personnel that had previously caused us major problems were no longer involved with the Club and the new Officers were very keen to see us return. Something to think about especially when Caerphilly RFC are now charging such a high site fee with no food provision.

23   The raffle raised £23.00 for regional funds, thanks to all for your support.

24     The date of our next meeting is Sunday, 11 August, 2024, at Taffs Well RFC starting at 1830.
