4 The 2024 Dates for a Show with Merthyr Scooter Club at the Labour Club, Merthyr Tydfil have been provided, watch this space for a precise Saturday date. However, in the absence of any contact from the Scooter Club, it looks like this will not be going ahead.
5 The British Treffen Pre Inscription form is available on the GWOCGB Website. It is £50 per person for Rutland Showground.
6 Malcolm gave a comprehensive report on the GWOCGB Annual General Meeting which had been held in April at Bromsgrove. Special mention was made of the possibility of being a victim to a scam if you were trying to buy parts or spares online. Detailed minutes of the meeting can be found on the GWOCGB Website under the Gen Sec page.
7 In particular, it was noted that the Goldwing motorcycle celebrates its 50th Anniversary this year. In recognition of this anniversary, a Free Goldwing 50th Anniversary T Shirt is on offer to all paid up members as at 31 July. 2024 from GWOCGB. All you have to do is send your name, your membership number and preferred size to treffen@gwocgb.co.uk before 31 July, 2024. If you are not going to the British Treffen arrangements can be made to collect your selected T Shirt.
8 Eight South Walians are going to the Dutch Treffen at De Steeg from 15 to 20 May, 2024. Travelling to Harwich, boarding the overnight Ferry to Hook of Holland, then only ninety miles to the Treffen site.
9 For those attending the Classic Vehicle Show at Panteg House, Griffithstown on Saturday 18 May, 2024 from 1000 to 1700. Names have been lodged with the organisers. Please make your own meeting arrangements. An email has been sent to those concerned.
10 The Vale of Glamorgan Classic Car Show will take place on Bank Holiday Monday 27 May, 2024 at Sully. 1000 to 1700. Please meet 0830 at Barrys’ (8 St Teilo Close, Dinas Powys, CF64 4TY), maybe bacon butties!!
11 The entry form for the Field of Dreams Classic Vehicle Show on Sunday 2 June, 2024 at Swansea, has been submitted. Those who are attending, please meet at Junction 33 Services, M4 (back car park) at 0900.
12 Bary provided an update on the second meeting with Caerphilly RFC concerning our Wing Ding which had been very successful. We will now be using the newly refurbished top showers for both men and women in separate changing rooms and shower areas. The unisex toilets in the middle lower block will also be available to us 24/7.
13 Barry also provided an update on the meeting with Ace Catering concerning catering at our Wing Ding. A Chuck Waggon will provide breakfast and dinner at very reasonable prices at limited times on the field. Seating arrangements will be provided for diners in the Welcome Tent. Since the meeting, Barry has now received confirmed times of serving and prices for the meals. Breakfast will be provided Thursday to Sunday from 0800 to 0900 with breakfast at £6.00 (2 sausage, 2 bacon, scrambled egg and hash browns). Dinner will be provided Thursday to Saturday from 1800 to 1900; the menu will vary each evening but as an example – chicken curry with rice or jacket potato or potato wedges will be £4.50. All meals will be served on cardboard trays with wooden utensils unless diners wish to bring their own to the Waggon.
14 As all necessary documentation has now been provided by the Rugby Club, the Caterers and South Wales Wings, the Event Application Form has been sent to Caerphilly County Borough Council. Their reply and/or queries is awaited.
15 Sponsorship is very much required for our Wing Ding, please let me know if you know of anyone who might be interested or, indeed, yourself.
16 Will also be looking for any donations towards our Wing Ding Supplies, a list had been sent out with tonight’s meeting invitation. Just let Barry know soonest and hopefully, we will not need to buy anything.

20 AOB:
a. A member asked what was the difference between a Drop In/Out compared with a Wing Ding? In simple terms, a Drop In/Out is much cheaper to attend as no facilities like showers and food are often not provided especially for those who are camping.
b. Lester suggested Monmouth School to be a future site for a British Treffen. Barry agreed to contact the school authorities for an initial reaction.
21 The raffle raised £20.00 for regional funds. Thanks to all who supported the raffle especially to Irene and Myra for organising.

Most of you will have heard about the FREE T-shirt that GWOCGB members can apply for to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of
the launch of the Gold Wing.
This is a fantastic gesture that our GWOCGB club have agreed to do for our members and Honda UK are helping to purchase
them with a very generous donation of £3,000.
