We welcomed seventeen members to the meeting including three new members, John Buckley, David Dyas and David McFarlane. It was also good to see Keith there following his recent change of job.

The South Wales Wing Ding will take place between Thursday 14 to Sunday 17 July 2022 at Caerphilly RFC. We are still looking for things for our goody bag and donations. A big thank you to Eddie and Motomec for their supply donations. Please see attached Supplies Listing we are still missing a few things – see if you can help and let Barry know. A very successful second site meeting took place with the rugby club’s caterers and everything is now in place. Please meet Monday 11 July at 1000 to load up the two vans, meet at Motomec, Aberdare Ltd, Golden Acres Garage, Park View Terrace, Abercwmboi, Aberdare, CF44 6AA. Then set site up on the Tuesday and Wednesday. Breakfast is now available on the Thursday morning for those South Walians stopping Wednesday night.
First Aid Certificates arrangements for a one day course are in hand for a Saturday. Details to follow

The Panteg House Classic Car Show at Griffithstown took place on Saturday, 14 May, 2022 and South Wales were well represented with seven Wings present. It was a good show and the weather was kind.
The Dinas Powys Rotary Vale of Glamorgan Classic Car Show took place at Sully on Sunday 29 May, 2022 and eleven Wings from South Wales were in attendance having previously enjoyed bacon butties at Barry’s. Eddie won second prize for Best Motorcycle in Show so congratulations go to him and Sue. Lots of public there and a good time was had by all. We also had a nice thank you letter from the organisers.
Our invitation to show the Wings at the Bishton Fete and Dog Show on Saturday 25 June 2022 from 1300 to 1700 is going ahead. Please meet at McDonalds, Chepstow Road, Newport at 1230, leaving promptly at 1245.
We have also received an invitation to show the Wings at the Police HQ Open Day at Croesyceiliog on Sunday 3 July. As no names were given to me at the meeting I assume we are not going to show there. However, should you wish to show, please contact me soonest so that I can set up the GWOCGB Public Liability Insurance.
Another invitation has been received to show the Wings at the South Wales Classic Car Club Show on Sunday 3 July, 2022 from 1030 to 1500 at Cardiff Bay, the Old Dr. Who Exhibition Site, Porth Teigr Way, Cardiff, CF10 4GA. This is the show that was previously held at Cardiff City Football Car Park. Again no names were given to me at the meeting so if you wish to show contact me soonest so that I can get our application form in which has a latest date of 23 June, 2022.
The invitation to show our Wings at Porthcawl Lions Vintage Fair on Saturday 13 August, 2022 from 12 noon to 1700 at Pyle Rugby Club has been accepted. Names to Barry at the next meeting please.
We have also had an invitation to show the Wings at the Classic Car Show & Country Fayre, Fonmon Castle, Rhoose, Barry, CF62 3ZN on Saturday 17 September, 2022, 0930 to 1800. Names to Barry at the August meeting please.

Seven South Walians attended the Sussex Wing Ding held at Eastbourne in early June and had a wonderful time although it was quite windy at times. 62 inscriptions and 99 people attended so a good turn out for a small Region. Lester’s alternator packed up but the Sussex guys and others happen to have a replacement locally and fixed it on the Saturday so he was able to travel back without difficulty on the Sunday. What a fantastic Club we have with so much support when it is needed.

Lester reported that there would be a couple of trial run outs to Llangorse Lake and Tredegar House to confirm the routes for the Wing Ding Run Outs. Details to follow. Roger kindly offered to be the vehicle parker at Llangorse Lake so that we avoided the gravel.
The raffle raised £22.00 for Regional funds, thank you to everyone.
