1 We welcomed thirty-two members to the meeting including new members Shane Dinsdale from Rhoose and Chris White from Cardiff and guests Bruno Cellupica and Brian Pearson.

3 Malcolm reported on the Capital Wing Ding that had taken place at Bancroft RFC, Essex during the period Friday 23 to Sunday 25 June, 2023. Five South Walians had attended a very successful event. Lester had been held up and arrived at Magor Services M4 nearly two hours late due to a car fire on route and Vaughan arrived just as we were leaving at 1000 due to a misunderstanding of our meeting point. A good ride to the site arriving at about 1330 after a fuel/comfort stop. Plenty of activities during the weekend arranged by the Capital members following the Showmanship theme including a well-supported fancy dress. A South Wales run out to Waltham Abbey was included in our itinerary on the Saturday including coffee and ice cream. Barry left very early on the Sunday as it was Jane’s birthday and Vaughan also left early to attend a friend’s house nearby. Malcolm and Lester travelled back following Malcolm’s Sat Nav which unfortunately took them through several villages before getting to the M25. On the M25 Lester was nearly side swiped twice by a very stupid car driver and he also nearly lost his Wing at the Services when he hit gravel. Fortunately, Malcom was able to come to the rescue and saved the bike from falling over and hitting an adjacent car. A good weekend was had by all with fine weather.
4 We have received an invitation to attend a fund-raising night for the teenage rugby team at Penarth Athletic Club on Wednesday 12 July, 2023 at 1800. Please meet at Barry’s house (8 St Teilo Close, Dinas Powys, CF64 4TY) at 1730, weather permitting.
5 We have also received an invitation to attend, weather permitting, the Field of Dreams Classic Vehicle Show at Riverside Caravan Park, Morriston, Swansea, SA6 6QL on Sunday 16 July, 2023 1000 to 1600. Exhibitors to arrive anytime from 0800 to 0945. As the Centre Wing Ding planned for that weekend has been cancelled, others may wish to attend the Show. On arrival, please mention that you are from South Wales Wings as a place has been reserved for us.
6 A new invitation has been received to attend the Swansea Classic Bike Show on Sunday 13 August, 2023 at Swansea Bus Museum, 1030 to 1530. Anyone interested to contact Barry soonest.
7 The GWOCGB British Treffen will be held at Uttoxeter Racecourse from Thursday 24 to Bank Holiday Monday 28 August, 2023. Pre-Inscription Forms (open to 31 July, 2023) are on-line. The responses from our members to the Treffen questionnaire had been very disappointing.

9 A new invitation had been received to attend the Fonmon Castle Classic Vehicle Show at Rhoose on Saturday 16 September, 2023. 1000 to 1700. Names to Barry soonest.
10 Barry reported that over the last few months no Pot Noodles for our charities had been received from Unilver Limited at Crumlin due to a change in their manufacturing process. It was hoped that this situation would change in coming months thereby enabling us to again continue to support the much-needed facility.
11 An Emergency First Aid Course has been booked for Thursday 16 November, 2023 from 0930 to 1630 at Dinas Powys. Definite names soonest please. (Barry, Malcolm, Jeff, Les and Tink so far)

14 AOB:
a. Barry reported that he had received a thank you note from Steve and Anne Cox of Trent Wings for the considerable assistance that had been given to them by Tink whilst they were travelling to various Treffens in Europe. They were very grateful to her.
b. Barry also reported that he had recently purchased a second hand Insta Trike Kit for his GL1500 following a gradual loss of confidence when he was riding his solo Wing particularly when travelling slowly both forwards and backwards. The Kit provided two stabilising wheels to support the Wings’ existing two wheels – it could be said that he now has a quad!!!!!
c. Lester reported that the Cwm Carnival would take place on Saturday 12 August, 2023 at 1100. Please meet at Lesters (1 River Row, Cwm, Ebbw Vale, NP23 7TJ) at 1000, Bacon butties will be provided.
15 The raffle raised £32 for Regional funds, thanks to everyone for gifts given and tickets purchased.
