1 We welcomed nineteen members to the meeting, it was particularly good to see Nigel who had not been able to attend previous meetings.
2 Apologies had been received from Tony & Helen, Anita, Bill & Pinky, Andrew & Sharon, Gaynor, Eddie & Sue, Lester, Gerald, Ken, Gaynor, Mark, Sarah and Kelvyn.
3 Jeff, as the newly appointed Webmaster, reported that due to unforeseen circumstances, we had lost access to the South Wales Wings website – southwaleswings.me.uk. It was therefore necessary to start from scratch and create a new website with a new domain name. He had investigated the various professional web makers that were available and costs could be very considerable. Alternatively, he was prepared to create a simplified website using the facilities that were available with a likely first year cost of approximately £70.00. The meeting unanimously accepted Jeff’s very kind offer and asked him to proceed. Jeff requested that if any member, with the appropriate knowledge, would like to help him he was more than happy to share the work load which would taper off over time.

5 Barry reminded the meeting that the Region’s Christmas Dinner will take place on Friday 17 December, 2021 at The Glascoed Pub starting at 1900. Jeff is collecting names (gl24carat@hotmail.com). The price for a three course meal is £25.00 a head and the menu is attached to these notes. A £5 deposit per head is required. Please complete the menu form (one per person)and let Jeff have it back no later than 8 December, 2021.  It was agreed that after the dinner we would have a Secret Santa Parcel, two pressies per couple value £5.00 each, one for a man and one for a woman.
6 We have received an invitation from The Glascoed Pub at Usk to provide them with a static light display, weather permitting, at their Christmas Fayre being held on Friday, 3 December, 2021 from 1700 to 1900. Please meet at the PUB at 1645.
7 We will be providing a Father Christmas (times 2) Escort at Bishton on Sunday, 19 December, 2021. Please meet at Jeff’s at 1445 (The Sheepfold, Bishton, Newport, NP18 2DZ.)
8 Barry reported that following further conversations with The Glascoed Pub about the South Wales Wing Ding being held on 12 to 17 July 2022 at the Pub, a comparison of portaloo prices had been carried out and it was decided to place an order with Tip Top Toilets at a total cost of £603.84 including VAT. This would provide us for the event – 2 Standard Portaloos, 1 Disabled Portaloo and 1 x 4 Bay Urinal and the price would include the delivery/collection charges and the necessary cleaning of the units on the Saturday morning.
It was also agreed to book Saturday afternoon entertainment by Snow on the Mountain at a cost of £150.00.
The Pub had reminded us that there was no walking around the field carrying alcohol, their alcohol licence did not allow it. Also, their site licence does not currently allow caravans to be sited on the field (tents, motor homes and campervans are fine) they are investigating this on our behalf with the local Authority. Dogs on leads are allowed on the site.
9 A request had been received from Karen concerning her Special Needs Children’s School Christmas Project. She needs Flour and Salt (any variety/type) to enable the children to made Soda Dough Christmas Trees at a price of £3.00 each. If you are able, please bring the requested items to our next meeting and place any orders for trees via Barry.
10 It was suggested and agreed that we do not give Christmas cards to each other this year but instead give a donation to the Region/Charity.
11 Your GWOCGB Membership Renewal is due 1 January, 2022. If you have renewed your Three Yearly Bank Standing Order for your annual subscription the money will be taken from your Bank Account on or about 15 December, 2021. Renewal Forms which must also be completed as well as payment (by BACS or cheque) are on line.

14 AOB:
a. It was suggested and agreed that we deliver some Christmas gifts to the Care Homes within the Region as we had done in previous years. If you are able, please bring sweet/choc tubs, packets or tins of biscuits or selection boxes to our next meeting.
b. It was also agreed that at our next meeting we finish the meeting with sharing some Christmas nibbles – savoury and sweet items of your choice.
15 The monthly raffle raised £24.00 for regional funds. Thanks to all concerned.
16 The date of our next meeting is Sunday, 12 December, 2021, starting at 1830 at Taffs Well RFC, with eats at the end.
