1 We welcomed eleven members to the meeting. It was especially good to see Les Roach and Dave Webster there as we had not seen either of them for some time. Les has acquired another silver GL1800 and Dave a solo GL1200 Aspencade.

5 The South Wales Wing Ding due to be held 12 to 17 July 2022 will now take place at Caerphilly RFC due to difficulties with the Glascoed Pub. We are still looking for things for our goody bag and donations. Special thanks were given to Ian Roberts and John Phelps, Bow‘s friends for their very generous donations to the raffle.
An initial discussion has taken place with Caerphilly RFC and they have confirmed their costings for the event. The site charge will be £700 (2018 £500) and breakfast £6.00 (2018 £5.00) and dinner £9.00 (2018 £7.00). Barry had produced a new budget that reflected the new costs which showed a potential shortfall of £1,422 based on the GWOCGB Constitution allowed maximum of 50 inscriptions. The Wing Ding £2,000 ring-fenced amount held in our Savings Account might therefore be used in part if inscriptions did not achieve 97 which was the break-even number. It was unanimously agreed that we proceed on this basis and Caerphilly RFC would be informed accordingly. Subject to the Rugby Club’s agreement, a site meeting would take place on Tuesday, 26 April at 1100.
6 Your GWOCGB Membership Renewal became due on 1 January, 2022 and is now overdue. Thank you to those who have renewed. For those who have not, Forms are on line or from Barry.
7 The 2022 GWOCGB Help Guide is now available on GWOCGB Web Site and can be downloaded.
8 GWEF has in agreement with Goldwing Ukraine, temporarily suspended GWEF membership to Goldwing Russia and Goldwing Belarus. A donation to the Ukraine Club of 500 Euros has been made by GWOCGB.
9 The International Classic Motorcycle Show will take place on Saturday/Sunday 23/24 April 2022 at Stafford County Showground. Tickets now on sale (same weekend as GWOCGB NC/AGM).
10 The invitation to show Wings at Dinas Powys Rotary Vale of Glamorgan Classic Car Show at Sully, SUNDAY 29 May, 2022 from 1000 to 1700 has been accepted. Passes for the event are now available from Barry. Bacon butties will be available at Barry & Janes’ (8 St Teilo Close, Dinas Powys, CF64 4TY) from 0830.
11 An invitation to show Wings at Porthcawl Lions Vintage Fair on Saturday 6 August, 2022 from 12 noon to 1700 at Porthcawl Rugby Club has also been accepted. Names to Barry next month please.
